So far, have had no issues with the 8GB of memory, though I still have a week to change my mind and wait it out until after Christmas for the 16GB. I basically sold my old one for the cost of the new one and I am happy with my decision. I upgraded from a 2018 i5 with 32GB memory to the M1 Base Mac mini. So yeah, Apple and I have not had the best relationship in recent years but I will give it to them, they undersold just how good the M1 is. That alone is just amazing when compared to all previous Apple devices without a dGPU.Įven tried a few games that need Rosetta and I know were unplayable, now? Totally playable. Just spent three hours playing tonight, Mini hardly got warm and I was able to play on max settings with a couple of tweaks getting 60fps on a 3440x1440 resolution. Not coming across anything so far that doesn't just work that I used before.Īlthough not a big point for me I have enjoyed playing a few games on the new Mac Mini, I am a casual World of Warcraft player, on the 2018 Mini, it was mediocre at best and the heat generation was really bad. Not my thing but yeah, works fine.Īnything so far that runs through Rosetta2, if I didn't know it was happening I wouldn't even suspect it. If it's your thing you can now use iPhone/iPad apps. I had the 2018 MM, 16GB/512GB, upgraded to the M1, 16GB/512GB.įor me, it runs way better, snappier, and processes everything so much quicker.Īpps open fast and appear to run faster than before.
